Wildwood Casino said that the couple's win was due to a machine malfunction. The Colorado Gaming Division came in and took possession of the machine so that it could be inspected, which later revealed that in fact, it was a malfunction that caused the win. The couple had won $1627.82 and the machine never reset itself. This is becoming more and more common as a few months before that a similar mistake was made on a slot machine but the total was for $42 million instead.
